Phenomenal People charity president and program facilitator, Margaret Giloth, was recognized for her years of leadership and community service in the facilitation of the youth mentorship program, DREAM GIRLS CLUB, now entering its 17th year.
The award was presented by the Premier of Bermuda, The Hon. E. David Burt, JP, MP, at a prestigious luncheon held at the Cedarbridge Academy Cafeteria on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
“This was a big surprise!” exclaimed Ms. Giloth – aka Aunt Margie. She thanks all those who submitted nominations in recognition of her years of dedicated service to empowering youth and families, which she characterizes as her purpose and labour of love.
The PLP’s Drum Major Award is symbolic of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Drum Major Award for community service, in recognition of nominees who selflessly perform daily acts of service to make their community – and the world – a better place.

Quinton Mallory, Raymond Santucci, Margaret Giloth, Edward Swan and Bermuda is Love will be receiving PLP Drum Major Awards.
A spokesperson said, “On Sunday March 3, the Progressive Labour Party will be hosting our 61st Annual Founder’s Day and Drum Major Awards. While the keynote speaker has been already announced to be Lt. Col. David Burch, we would also like to announce our Drum Major Awards. Recipients of these awards are members of the community who have made positive contributions in the spirit of community service.
